Saturated ruby. An assertively perfumed bouquet evokes ripe black and blue fruits, along with hints of licorice, violet pastille and peppery spices. Sweet, palate-staining cassis and boysenberry flavors become spicier as the wine opens up, showing impressive energy and back end thrust. Finishes smoky and very long, offering slow-building tannins and a suave echo of sweet dark fruit.
Offers a deep well of fleshy fruit, with blueberry reduction, braised fig and blackberry pate de fruit flavors all layered together and carrying through a polished, violet- and pastis-tinged finish. Grenache and Syrah.
